Aspire Squared works with a small number of highly skilled and experienced associates all of whom have a deep understanding of the world of qualifications. Collectively we have experience of working for awarding organisations, regulatory bodies and sector bodies and can apply our shared knowledge to the challenges of the new regulatory environment.

Sue McGlynn

Sue has worked in the field of delivery, assessment and quality assurance of vocational qualifications for over 25 years. She has practical experience of working in FE Colleges and large retailers and as an external verifier. Sue joined NCVQ and then became head of QCA Awarding Body Monitoring. At Ofqual she was appointed Head of Recognition and Accreditation, running both the recognition and accreditation processes and was involved in policy development including latterly the implementation of the 2010 ASCL Act. Sue retired from Ofqual at the end of 2010 and now offers consultancy services to awarding organisations and those wishing to enter the regulated market, specialising in regulatory compliance.

Mark Novels

Mark is an education management consultant specialising in qualifications policy and regulation. He has extensive experience in the education and skills policy environment, both in the UK and overseas and has held senior roles at QCA, NCVQ and City and Guilds. As a successful project manager Mark has worked closely with government, awarding organisations, funding agencies, sector bodies and other key stakeholders to develop and implement high profile initiatives in a wide and diverse range of areas. These projects covered standards, qualifications reform and framework development. He also has extensive knowledge and experience of qualification development and accreditation, quality assurance, awarding body recognition and self-assessment.

Chris Warman

Chris is a consultant in the education and skills policy environment with extensive knowledge of vocational qualifications. She worked for NCVQ and then QCA, where she had responsibility for the development and approval of National Occupational Standards and of projects for funding. Since joining Darent (Consultants) Ltd in 2000 she has worked with awarding organisations, professional bodies, regulators, and sector bodies on a wide range of qualifications-related projects. Chris has worked with Ofqual as an independent reviewer of recognition and self-assessment submissions as well as with a number of awarding organisations and FAB to provide advice and support on the development of procedures and qualifications to meet QCF requirements.
